Online Communities |
|
Your school's website is a critical communications hub where members of your community—students, parents, alumni, and faculty/staff—can use a secure password-protected log in to get information tailored to their role in your community. |
|
|
|
Our community portals are the places where:
- Teachers can send individual and multiple students messages
- Parents can get messages about the next parents' association fundraising event
- Students in a club can talk about an upcoming trip
- Alumni can connect with each others years after graduation
Basic portal features include:
- My Profile -- Users get to choose what information (phone, email, address, job title/company, etc.) with the rest of the community
- User groups -- Create any type of group you wish: clubs and sports groups for students, alumni reunion groups, parents association committees, etc.
- The Wall -- Where users can post status updates, have discussions with fellow community members, and see other users' posts
- Messages -- A portal-based messaging system that lets community members communicate with each other and lets your school communicate easily with all of them
- Directories -- Constituency-defined directories (e.g., parents, students, faculty/staff, alumni) pulled in real time from your school's database as a PDF or webpage. You can also create new categories of directories that are linked to user-types, such as tennis team members, alumni fundraisers, etc.
- News feeds -- Includes school news feeds or feeds from external websites (e.g., your school's local newspaper)
- Social Networks -- Your school's social network feeds (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) and lets users add their own
- Calendars -- General school events, athletics, alumni events, etc.
- My Tools -- A central administrative entry point for users who edit web content or access
If you opt for our Smart Connect module, you can also share with parents schedules, grades, attendance, and class
information pulled in real-time from systems such as Blackbaud,
inResonance, PCR Educator, and others.
