|  For Providence Christian Academy families, online registration is not new, but Magic Hour Communications' enrollment registration system is a cost-effective solution for the Lilburn, Ga., school that offers added flexibility as the school's needs evolve.
The registration solution is the latest example, along with mobile website solutions, that demonstrates Magic Hour Communications' expertise in providing best practice solutions for independent school websites as well as the flexibility to provide customized and cost-effective solutions when it matters most.
"Online registration is great for your families because it shows them you are concerned about their time and convenience," said Claudia Hunt, Providence's Director of Admission. "I'm amazed how many really large schools still do paper registrations. What if you have three kids to register? That's filling out much of the same information on three different forms. Plus, they can pay by credit card, which they hadn't been able to do before. That's an added convenience."
Its special features are also good for busy parents: they can partially fill out the registration online, save it, and come back later to finish it up before submitting it. That helps if they need to get information that's not immediately available. In addition to enrollment forms, the new module lets Providence families submit tuition assistance forms, athletic forms, and extracurricular permission forms -- the last of which is something many families forget to submit or lose.
"Before, coaches would have to track down families before the first away game to get the signed permission forms to let them leave campus," she said. "Now, parents just click a box if their child participates in extracurricular activities and their electronic signature gives us authorization for the travel. That wasn't available before."
Hunt added that the registration module is an online convenience for families "at a good price." That's because Magic Hour's solution does not require any additional service contract with outside vendors, which saves schools money. In addition, the data can be imported into any school information system and customized as needed.
A bonus is that the module can be expanded and tailored to a school's unique needs. For example, next year Providence will customize the module to allow families to sign up for Providence's Selective Studies classes, which provide academic support services for a separate fee from tuition. "The registration module will help in planning how many teachers we'll need and what to budget for," said Hunt.
"Overall, the system is very fluid and you can customize it to any of your school's needs," she added. "That's huge."
Providence Christian Academy is a co-ed, independent college preparatory school for pre-kindergarten through grade 12, located in Lilburn, Ga., outside Atlanta. Magic Hour is currently designing the school's new website for launch later this year. |
